DESCRIPTION:The Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) is hosting a 2-
 day Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) Instructor Training Workshop in 
 Waterloo. This two-day training prepares participants to lead evidence-bas
 ed fall prevention classes for older adults in their communities.\nEach ye
 ar\, millions of adults age 65 and older experience falls—one in four an
 nually. Falls can significantly impact independence and the ability to age
  safely at home. The Healthy Steps for Older Adults program addresses thes
 e risks through education\, screening\, and practical fall-prevention stra
 tegies.\n\nAbout Healthy Steps for Older Adults\nHSOA is an evidence-based
  fall risk screening and education program for adults age 60 and older. Th
 e program covers:\n\n\n 	Fall risk awareness and prevention strategies\n 	
 Proper footwear and home safety\n 	Nutrition for bone health\n 	The import
 ance of physical activity\n 	Simple at-home exercises to improve strength 
 and balance\n\nInstructor Training Outcomes\nParticipants who complete the
  training will gain the tools\, resources\, and confidence needed to lead 
 Healthy Steps for Older Adults classes and help older adults live active\,
  confident lives with reduced fear of falling.\n\nRegistration Information
