SUMMARY:Healthy Steps for Older Adults - Waverly
DESCRIPTION:Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults\, but ma
 ny fall risks can be reduced with practical prevention steps. To help comm
 unity members stay active\, safe\, and independent\, Northeast Iowa Area A
 gency on Aging (NEI3A) will offer a Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) 
 class in Waverly this August.\n\nHSOA is an evidence-based fall-risk scree
 ning and education program designed for adults age 50 and older. The class
  offers easy-to-use strategies to reduce fall risk\, including tips on saf
 e footwear\, home safety improvements\, nutrition for bone health\, and th
 e importance of regular physical activity. Participants will also learn si
 mple at-home exercises to build strength\, improve balance\, and increase 
 confidence.\n\nThe Waverly class will be held Thursday\, August 13\, from 
 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Waverly Senior Center\, 506 E. Bremer Avenue
 \, Waverly\, IA 50677. Lunch will be provided\, and each participant will 
 receive a comprehensive program handbook.\n\nThe program is offered for a 
 suggested voluntary contribution of $25\, and scholarships are available u
 pon request. Space is limited. To reserve a spot by the August 10 registra
