Healthy Steps for Older Adults – Independence

Healthy Steps for Older Adults is an evidence-based fall risk screening and education class for adults aged 50 and over. It focuses on fall prevention and covers topics such as proper footwear, safety at home, good nutrition for bone health, and the importance of exercise. Participants will also learn at-home exercises to improve strength and balance. By participating in the Healthy Steps for Older Adults program, you can equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to lead a full and active life, free from the fear of falling.
Classes will be held on Wednesday, September 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Independence Public Library, 805 First Street East in Independence, IA 50644. To secure your spot, contact Janet Buls at 319-874-6850 or email jbuls@nei3a.org by September 25.
A light lunch will be served during these classes and each participant will receive a comprehensive program handbook filled with valuable information. The classes are available with a suggested contribution of $25.
