Important Updates to the 2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

NEI3A will participate in the popular Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition program again in 2025. Funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), this program provides $50 vouchers for seniors to use at Farmers Markets (age and income limits apply). This benefits low-income seniors by helping them purchase locally grown food and supporting local farmers. Win-Win!

We recently learned that funding cuts by the USDA will impact the number of vouchers we have been allocated. In 2024, we sent out more than 3,000 sets of vouchers. This year, our initial allocation is 850 sets.

Because of this, our process and program for distribution is different than other years.

  • If you received vouchers last year, you will receive a letter in early May with information about applying for the limited number of vouchers available.
  • NO NEW APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025 SEASON WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME.

If additional vouchers are received and we believe we can accept more applications, we will make a notification on this page.

Finally, we encourage YOU to voice your support for this program by contacting your US Members of Congress and sharing why the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is important to you.
