What to Expect
Senior Wellness Days will be held at select Hy-Vee stores across Iowa, in partnership with the Iowa Area Agencies on Aging. Each event is free to the public. The following services and resources will be available at each event:
Vaccinations:
The following vaccines will be available on a walk-in basis only with no appointment needed:
- COVID-19 (for 2024-2025 season)
- Flu
- RSV
- Shingles
- Pneumococcal

Individuals ages 60+ who get a COVID-19 vaccine at a Senior Wellness Day event will receive a $20 Hy-Vee gift card (while supplies last),** courtesy of the Iowa Area Agencies on Aging.
Free A1C Screenings
Get screened for prediabetes or type 2 diabetes with a free A1C screening, available while supplies last. This simple test will measure your average blood sugar levels over the past three months (no fasting required). You can also learn about other nutritional services available at Hy-Vee.
Financial Resources
Explore financial services available through Midwest Heritage, including fraud protection tools, checking and savings accounts, Certificate of Deposits with competitive rates, financial planning, home and automobile insurance and more.
What to Bring
We recommend bringing the following to your Senior Wellness Day:
- Insurance card or Medicare Part B/Part D card (if a Medicare recipient0
- Photo ID
- Printed/completed vaccine consent form
