Healthy Steps for Older Adults – West Union

Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) is hosting Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) classes in West Union. HSOA is an evidence-based fall risk screening and education class for adults aged 50 and over focusing on fall prevention, covering topics such as proper footwear, safety at home, good nutrition for bone health, and the importance of exercise. Participants will also learn at-home exercises to improve strength and balance.
By participating in the Healthy Steps for Older Adults program, you can equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to lead a full and active life, free from the fear of falling. The class is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital, 112 Jefferson Street in West Union. Lunch will be provided, and each participant will receive a comprehensive program handbook filled with valuable information. The classes are available with a suggested voluntary contribution of $25. Scholarships are available for those who request financial assistance.
