Dementia LiveĀ® Event in Decorah
EVENT DETAILS
The Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) invites community members to experience Dementia LiveĀ®, a powerful, interactive program designed to immerse participants in what life might be like living with cognitive impairment and sensory changes.
The event will take place on Friday, November 14, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, Iowa.
Through the use of specialized gear that simulates dementia-related changes in vision, hearing, and touch, participants gain a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by those living with dementia. The experience helps build empathy and strengthens care partnersā ability to improve communication, relationships, and care practices.
Bridget White from the Winn Med Dementia Care Program will also provide additional education and insights on dementia care.
This free event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Space is limited. Registration is required. To register, contact Kelly Kuennen at 563-277-6024.
