Home Delivered Meals
NEI3A offers Home Delivered Meals (HDM) to homebound individuals who would benefit from receiving nutritionally balanced meals delivered to their doorstep. Each meal is carefully prepared to meet specific nutritional standards and is reviewed and approved by a qualified dietician.
Meal delivery is organized through local caterers across various communities. While daily hot meal delivery isn't always feasible due to logistical constraints like distance and food temperature preservation, prepared meals are reliably delivered to homes throughout NEI3A's service area, covering all 18 counties. Consumers have the flexibility to select their meals from a menu every two weeks.
Congregate Meals
NEI3A continues to support local traditional senior centers when communities are interested. Senior centers provide socialization, activities, nutrition, and a connection to vital community services.
In addition, NEI3A also offers congregate meals through the Iowa Cafe program. Iowa Cafés are an innovative approach to providing socialization and nutrition through a contract with local restaurants to provide meals. Below is a complete listing of congregate meal site locations.
